It has been hailed mans greatest teacher and most important for the development of our species over millions of years. Yet, we despise its existence whenever it comes to us. Fear - this dark shadow that seems to follow us wherever we go. This bane of humanity that stops us from achieving our dreams, goals, and ambitions.

But is that really true? Is fear what stops us and thwarts our efforts to become successful?

Have you ever been disappointed? What a dumb question. Everybody has? Right? Being disappointed is such a universal experience (like fear and love) that nearly anyone experiences it regularly.

But often what we feel disappointed about is so mundane. Yes, if someone broke my heart, I feel disappointed (obviously?). But what about the weather? I am currently in Austria, and we had three days of sunshine. Now it is raining for two days. Am I disappointed about that? What does being disappointed actually mean?

We all learn about the major wars, revolutions, and often about the associated cruelties. And whenever violence on a big scale happens, it makes the headline of any newspaper. And it is not only the physical violence but now with Social Media, also the verbal/mental violence that is affecting us more and more — be it from presidents, populists to everyday people on Facebook.
