The 7 Huna Principles of Life – 1. Ike

Personal Development

holdingThis is a series of 7 articles based around the 7 principles of life in the Huna tradition.

Have you ever heard of Huna? It’s a Hawaiian term for “secret”. Now don’t jump off here just because you don’t want to hear another “The Secret” type story again. Huna is a philosophy (and not a set of of superficial esoteric mumbo jumbo methods) while at the same time being very practical – maybe that’s what caught my attention in the first place and I found it well worth studying. It’s not a religion that you have to join and if you are religious you should stay with your current religion if you’re happy. However following the 7 principles that are at the core of this philosophy allows you to experience your life to a much deeper and fulfilling level. [click to continue…]

Master the Art of Giving

Personal Development
Girl gives a heart
This is a guest article by Tess Marshalll from The Bold Life

>“Give others all that is alive in us—our interest, understanding, our knowledge, our humor, everything in us that’s good. In doing so, we enhance the sense of aliveness in others while enhancing our own. When we give, we get a “heightened vitality” of what it means to be human.” –Erich Fromm

With our changing economic times, everyone is asking for help in some form. There are as many reasons to give as there are ways to give.

Some people give for recognition. They want their names in programs, on park benches and in hospital lobbies. Others give expecting to be paid back or thanked, they give to get. Some people want a hands-on-experience and are generous with their time. Some like to give anonymously and don’t want any recognition at all.

People who truly master the art of giving give out of the goodness of their hearts with no self-serving motives. Giving becomes a blessing for the giver and receiver.

It’s human nature to believe, “When I have more I’ll give more.” If you come from this mentality you never have enough of anything to give.

Generosity is a choice that feels right and joyful. Generosity comes from believing you have enough to share.

The following are gifts we all have that can benefit others.

How “Free” Could Keep You Captive

Personal Development
Free Cheese

Are you in a hypnotic state now? If there is one word that will bring most people into a hypnotic state where they salivate just like Pavlov’s dog its the word “Free”. It is THE buzzword of our last decade and wherever you look (especially with software and the internet) that is the word that people flock to.

I’ve been there too my brother for quite a while, but then it dawned on me, that this word, with that oh so sweet sound to it, could be one of the meanest traps towards experiencing real growth – especially when it comes to those areas of financial abundance and self-appreciation.

You might be dazzled by my words, but follow me for some lines and you might agree, that “Free” is not always free for your mind – indeed it could be the word that kept you enslaved to your miserable life for too long.

We Got Used to “Free”

Nowadays with the internet and its vast collection of free material available, people expect to get almost everything for free – software, music, video, entertainment in ever area, books, knowledge – everything is free.

Steps to your goal
